Denver Broncos tight end Lucas Krull will face the Carolina Panthers in Week 8 this Sunday. The third-year tight end was the team's second-leading receiver in Week 7's 33-10 domination of a depleted Saints squad. Despite being listed as the second-string option behind teammate Adam Trautman on Denver's depth chart, Krull has out-targeted, out-received, and out-gained Trautman over the last three weeks. Still, even in a juicy matchup against a porous Panthers defense, the 26-year-old will not be a viable fantasy option. Lucas Krull Goes For 41 Yards In Big Win Over Saints
In just his third game this season, Denver Broncos tight end Lucas Krull was the team's second leading receiver in the 33-10 win over the hosting New Orleans Saints on Thursday Night Football. Krull caught three of his four targets for a season-high 41 receiving yards, which were second-most behind rookie wideout Troy Franklin's 50 receiving yards, in his third game in 2024. Meanwhile, fellow tight end Adam Trautman couldn't haul in any of his three targets on the night. It's becoming clear that Krull is the Broncos' preferred pass-catching TE over Trautman, Nate Adkins and Greg Dulcich, who was a healthy scratch yet again in Week 7. Coming into Thursday's game, Krull had only three catches on five targets for 16 yards and should remain on the waiver wire in the vast majority of fantasy leagues in Denver's low-volume passing attack.
Lucas Krull Makes Case For Roster Spot In Preseason Loss
New Orleans Saints tight end Lucas Krull dominated in Sunday's preseason finale, grabbing seven of 15 targets for 106 yards. The second-year tight end spent 2022 on the practice squad and despite the strong showing, he more than likely will end up back there in 2023. New Orleans has a deep tight end roster including Juwan Johnson, Foster Moreau, Jimmy Graham, and Taysom Hill. Krull is unlikely to crack the roster ahead of any of those guys, but could find himself on the Saints' practice squad for another season following his dominant preseason showing.

Krull hauled in 38 receptions, 451 receiving yards, and six touchdowns last season at Pittsburgh. There is no clear cut No. 1 tight end on this roster, so Krull could sneak up the depth chart. Adam Trautman is projected as the starting tight end, but things could quickly change. Krull might be someone worth stashing in deep leagues or dynasty formats.
