Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin told the media that he "can't say enough" about the consistency exhibited by wide receivers Van Jefferson and Scotty Miller this summer. Both receivers were new additions this offseason and appear to have earned some praise from the coaching staff. Jefferson caught 20 passes for 209 yards last year while Miller tallied 11 catches, 161 yards, and a pair of touchdowns. It's unclear exactly what role they will have in 2024, but Tomlin's praise gives them some extra credibility and favor as the Steelers sort through their depth behind George Pickens. With that said, they can both be avoided in fantasy football for the time being.

Scotty Miller Signs With Steelers
Former Atlanta Falcons free-agent wide receiver Scotty Miller is reuniting with Pittsburgh Steelers offensive coordinator Arthur Smith on an undisclosed one-year deal on Wednesday, according to a source. Smith was the head coach in Atlanta to begin last season before getting fired. In 17 games with the Falcons last year, Miller caught 11 of his 16 targets for 161 yards and two touchdowns. While he will reunite with Smith, the 26-year-old pass-catcher will merely operate as receiving depth in Pittsburgh behind George Pickens, Van Jefferson, rookie Roman Wilson and Calvin Austin III. The 26-year-old speedster has a total of 85 catches on 144 targets for 1,085 receiving yards and six touchdowns in 67 games (eight starts) over his five seasons in the NFL. He was originally a sixth-round pick by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2019 out of Bowling Green.

Scotty Miller Agrees To One-Year Deal With Falcons
Tampa Bay Buccaneers free-agent wide receiver Scotty Miller agreed to an undisclosed one-year deal with the Atlanta Falcons on Wednesday, according to a source. Miller will stay in the NFC South after spending the first four years of his NFL career with the Buccaneers. In his four seasons with the team, he caught 74 of his 128 targets for 924 yards and four touchdowns in 50 regular season games (eight starts). The 25-year-old former sixth-rounder in 2019 had 23 receptions for 185 yards in 15 regular season games on 40 targets in 2022. He was buried on Tampa's receiver depth chart behind Mike Evans, Chris Godwin, Julio Jones and Russell Gage, so the move to Atlanta should allow him to have a bigger role, although it won't necessarily make him a big fantasy weapon.

Breshad Perriman, Scotty Miller Inactive Sunday Night
Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receivers Breshad Perriman (knee) and Scotty Miller are both inactive on Sunday night against the Kansas City Chiefs. Perriman came into the Week 4 contest doubtful to play, while Miller will be a healthy scratch with Chris Godwin (hamstring) and Julio Jones (knee) returning to action. Tight end Kyle Rudolph will also be a healthy scratch for another game, while left tackle Donovan Smith (elbow) is active for the first time since getting injured in the season opener. Quarterback Tom Brady will have his top three receivers back for the first time since Week 1, and he'll need them to keep up with the Chiefs explosive offense.

Scotty Miller - Week 3 Outlook For Fantasy Football
Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Scotty Miller (calf) was a full participant in practice this week and could have an expanded role against the Green Packers in Week 3. He was dealing with a calf issue, but should play after practicing in full this week. Mike Evans (suspension) and Chris Godwin (hamstring) have been ruled out, while Breshad Perriman (knee), Russell Gage (knee), and Julio Jones (knee) are all questionable. The 25-year-old caught three of eight targets for 34 yards while taking one carry for eight yards in the Week 2 win over the New Orleans Saints. Miller could be an option in deep-league formats if Perriman, Gage, or Jones is inactive.

Scotty Miller Draws Eight Targets
Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Scotty Miller led all pass-catchers in targets with eight but caught just three passes for 34 yards. With Chris Godwin (hamstring) and Julio Jones (knee) banged up, Miller might be an interesting DFS play, but he's not a great option in shallow fantasy leagues just yet. He could eventually prove himself as a decent fantasy option in deep leagues, but he's not there at this point in the season. Keep him on the bench heading into a matchup with the Green Bay Packers.

Scotty Miller Healthy And Competing
Tampa Buccaneers wide receiver Scotty Miller was a possible cut candidate as recently as a few weeks ago, but he is now fully healthy and competing to secure a role. Miller missed seven games due to a turf toe injury in 2021 that really derailed his growth in the offense. Miller returned for the playoffs, catching four passes for 38 yards, but he has since struggled to regain his form. With more competition behind Mike Evans (hamstring) and Chris Godwin (knee) entering 2022, including Russell Gage and Julio Jones, Miller will need to impress in training camp to remain on the roster and attempt to climb the depth chart. He's well off the fantasy radar entering the season.

Scotty Miller Not A Lock To Make The Roster
Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Scotty Miller, who had 84 total receiving yards last year, including the playoffs, isn't a lock to make the team's 53-man roster out of training camp given how deep the team is at the position. There's a chance he's cut and signs elsewhere, he could be traded before roster cutdowns, or he could stick with Tampa as the No. 4 receiver. Miller can also contribute on special teams, but he'll be competing with Jaelon Darden and rookie Deven Thompkins this summer. The 24-year-old had over 500 yards in 2020, but he was on Injured Reserve for most of last year and caught just five passes. He'll have a better chance of making the roster if Chris Godwin (knee) isn't ready for the start of the season.

Scotty Miller Activated From Injured Reserve
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are activating wide receiver Scotty Miller (toe) from Injured Reserve on Tuesday and will release long-snapper Carson Tinker in a corresponding move. Miller has missed the team's last seven games while recovering from a turf-toe injury he suffered in Week 3 against the Los Angeles Rams. He had just two catches for 11 yards in the first three games but will return to give quarterback Tom Brady another deep threat with Antonio Brown (ankle) still recovering from an ankle sprain. Miller could make some plays here or there, but he won't be a dependable weekly option for fantasy managers, even if Brown misses more time. Mike Evans, Chris Godwin and Rob Gronkowski will continue to see the majority of the targets through the air.

Scotty Miller Won't Play In Week 10
Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Scotty Miller (toe) and cornerback Sean Murphy-Bunting (elbow) won't be activated from Injured Reserve to play in Week 10 against the Washington Football Team. Both players are recovering from long-term injuries but could be back in time for Week 11 against the New York Giants. The Bucs will once again be without Antonio Brown (ankle) and tight end Rob Gronkowski (back) on Sunday, but Chris Godwin (foot), who is listed as questionable, is expected to be active. It means that quarterback Tom Brady will have Mike Evans and Godwin as his primary targets, with Tyler Johnson likely serving as the infrequently used No. 3 pass-catcher. Miller had only two catches for 11 yards on three targets in three games before landing on IR.
