Scotty Miller News
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are activating wide receiver Scotty Miller (toe) from Injured Reserve on Tuesday and will release long-snapper Carson Tinker in a corresponding move. Miller has missed the team's last seven games while recovering from a turf-toe injury he suffered in Week 3 against the Los Angeles Rams. He had just two catches for 11 yards in the first three games but will return to give quarterback Tom Brady another deep threat with Antonio Brown (ankle) still recovering from an ankle sprain. Miller could make some plays here or there, but he won't be a dependable weekly option for fantasy managers, even if Brown misses more time. Mike Evans, Chris Godwin and Rob Gronkowski will continue to see the majority of the targets through the air.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Scotty Miller (toe) and cornerback Sean Murphy-Bunting (elbow) won't be activated from Injured Reserve to play in Week 10 against the Washington Football Team. Both players are recovering from long-term injuries but could be back in time for Week 11 against the New York Giants. The Bucs will once again be without Antonio Brown (ankle) and tight end Rob Gronkowski (back) on Sunday, but Chris Godwin (foot), who is listed as questionable, is expected to be active. It means that quarterback Tom Brady will have Mike Evans and Godwin as his primary targets, with Tyler Johnson likely serving as the infrequently used No. 3 pass-catcher. Miller had only two catches for 11 yards on three targets in three games before landing on IR.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Scotty Miller (toe) is hoping to return from Injured Reserve to contribute in Week 10 against the Washington Football Team, but he will wait to see how this week goes and what the coaches and trainers decide. Miller said Wednesday's practice went well, but we'll have to wait and see what the team does with Antonio Brown (ankle) looking likely to miss another game. Chris Godwin (foot) is also dealing with an injury, but it's unclear if it's serious enough to keep him out this Sunday. Miller has been out since Week 3 with a turf-toe injury, so it'd be unrealistic to expect him to see a huge snap share if he were to return and play against Washington. In his three games before the injury, Miller had two grabs on three targets for 11 yards.
