Joonas Korpisalo  • G  •  Bruins

Joonas Korpisalo Shuts The Door On Thursday

Boston Bruins goaltender Joonas Korpisalo stopped all 29 shots he faced against the Ottawa Senators on Thursday evening. The Senators had a slight edge in the shot total, but Korpisalo was able to lead the way. Morgan Geekie scored the eventual game-winner in the second period, and David Pastrnak put the game out of reach with an empty-netter in the final seconds. Fantasy managers should expect Korpisalo to continue to operate as the top option in Boston for the time being, as Jeremy Swayman is dealing with a "minor" upper body injury. Swayman exited early on Wednesday evening, and Korpisalo entered the game in relief. Over his previous three contests, Korpisalo has held a solid .937% SV and a 1.71 GAA. He could be worth a look in deeper formats as a low-end streaming option on Saturday afternoon, facing the Colorado Avalanche.

Overall, Rust has tallied 38 points in 32 contests and is just one goal away from reaching the 20-goal mark for the sixth straight season. Patrick Kane Ruled Out For Thursday

Detroit Red Wings right wing Patrick Kane (upper body) will miss Thursday's Original Six matchup against the Montreal Canadiens. Kane recently turned back the clock, racking up six goals and 16 points over a 10-game span. He has amassed 30 points (11 goals, 19 assists) in 42 games across the season. With Kane out, Vladimir Tarasenko will move to the second line for Thursday's action. The Wild captain will work with Declan Chisholm on the second defensive pairing. He is also expected to join the first power-play unit. Travis Dermott will make way in the lineup. Darcy Kuemper Earns Victory On Wednesday

Los Angeles Kings goaltender Darcy Kuemper stopped 27 of the 28 shots he faced en route to defeating the Florida Panthers on Wednesday evening. His lone mistake came in the second period when Evan Rodrigues found the back on the power-play. Kuemper then shut the door for the remainder of the contest. This was a nice bounce-back showing for the 34-year-old, as he allowed three goals on just 21 shots in his previous game. However, despite that disappointing performance, Kuemper has been quite productive over his last seven starts. During this stretch, the 34-year-old has posted a 5-2 record with a .957% SV and a 1.15 GAA. Kuemper remains a high-end goaltender in all formats, playing behind one of the best defensive units in the league.

Overall, he is on pace to smash his previous career-highs. The Maple Leafs placed left wing Max Pacioretty (upper body) on the injured reserve on Wednesday, which is another blow to the Maple Leaf offense.
