Jaret Patterson News
Washington Football Team running back Jaret Patterson had an impressive showing while filling in for Antonio Gibson, as he carried the ball 12 times for 57 yards and a score while adding five receptions for 41 yards. The rookie saw increased usage in the passing game and rewarded the fantasy managers who started him in this one. The former Buffalo collegiate star is potentially solidifying a role for himself in the offense next year, as he has been able to produce when his number has been called this season. It is yet to be known if the team will shut down Gibson for Week 18, which could be another opportunity for Patterson to show his worth to the Washington offense.
Washington Football Team running back Jaret Patterson will get his first opportunity to lead the backfield as Antonio Gibson will be sidelined for Week 17 after being placed on the reserve/COVID-19 list. Patterson has been able to see an increased role since J.D. McKissic has been sidelined, but he figures to be in a committee approach with Jonathan Williams against the Eagles. He has been efficient in his past three games, gaining 82 yards on 17 carries and finding the end zone. He hasn't had a role in the passing game, so his ceiling could be limited in PPR formats. The rookie will be in the FLEX discussion for standard-sized leagues, but fantasy managers should be cautious starting him in the fantasy championship. The Washington offense has struggled of late, so a negative game script could be detrimental to the fantasy value of the former Buffalo collegiate star.
Washington Football Team running back Jaret Patterson could have a significant role on Sunday night if Antonio Gibson (toe) is unable to suit up against the Dallas Cowboys. The rookie found the end zone in Week 15 as he punched it in from the one-yard line, and was able to carry the ball four times for 20 yards. Patterson will likely see a split with Jonathan Williams if Gibson isn't able to play, so fantasy managers shouldn't get carried away in terms of his expectations. The Cowboys have been solid against the run, so the matchup isn't very appealing. Gibson managed just 10 carries for 36 yards in their last meeting, so this could be a backfield to avoid altogether considering the game kickoffs on Sunday night.
