Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah News
The Cleveland Browns activated rookie linebacker Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah (ankle) and cornerback M.J. Stewart (hamstring) from Injured Reserve on Saturday and waived defensive tackle Andrew Billings in a corresponding move. The Browns also elevated running back Brian Hill from the practice squad to the active roster to serve as D'Ernest Johnson's backup in Week 10 against the Cleveland Browns. "Speed. Coverage ability. Tackling. Blitzing. Everything," defensive coordinator Joe Woods said of Owusu-Koramoah. "He's a very talented player." The 22-year-old is returning from a high ankle sprain and gives the Browns incredible athleticism all over the field. He has 29 tackles (20 solo), four passes defensed, one forced fumble and half a sack in six games (five starts).
Cleveland Browns rookie linebacker Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah (ankle) is dealing with a high ankle sprain that will likely keep him out anywhere from four to six weeks. Owusu-Koramoah was also sent to the hospital with a throat contusion after the Week 5 loss to the Los Angeles Chargers, but his ankle injury is obviously much more concerning. The 21-year-old second-rounder has played a near every down role each of the last two weeks, playing 91% of the defensive snaps against LA and 85% of the snaps in the Week 6 blowout loss to the Arizona Cardinals. He has recorded 29 tackles (20 solo), four passes defensed, a forced fumble and half a sack in six games. Cleveland's defense, which has allowed 84 points in their last two games, is searching for answers as they head into a Thursday night game against the Denver Broncos.
Cleveland Browns linebacker Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah is starting to get first-team reps with the defense during camp. During Cleveland's joint practice with the New York Giants on Thursday, Owusu-Koramoah got some run with the first team during some 11-on-11 drills. The talented rookie missed a portion of camp early while on the COVID-19 reserve list but he has impressed with his athleticism since returning. Team beat reporter Jake Trotter stated on Thursday that the Owusu-Koramoah is a "missile off the edge" and that he is "going to be a player." The Browns may have gotten a steal in drafting the rookie out of Notre Dame in the second round of the 2021 NFL draft. If he can win a starting role, JOK is an interesting name to keep in mind in IDP leagues this season.
