Lil'Jordan Humphrey News
The New England Patriots signed former New Orleans Saints wide receiver Lil'Jordan Humphrey to an undisclosed one-year deal on Wednesday, according to a source. Humphrey spent the last three years in New Orleans, hauling in 16 of his 24 targets for 295 yards and three touchdowns in 18 games (six starts). He'll strictly be serving as receiver depth for the Patriots behind DeVante Parker, Jakobi Meyers, Kendrick Bourne and Nelson Agholor, and he'll be competing with the likes of rookie Tyquan Thornton, Ty Montgomery, N'Keal Harry, Kristian Wilkerson and Tre Nixon for a spot on the active roster in training camp next month. Humphrey played in a career-high 10 games in 2021 and caught 13 passes for 249 yards and two scores.
New Orleans Saints wide receivers Lil'Jordan Humphrey (illness) and Ty Montgomery (back) are both active in Week 17 against the Carolina Panthers. Tre'Quan Smith (chest) was officially ruled out on Friday, but the Saints are also getting Deonte Harris back from a suspension. Expect Harris and Marquez Callaway to be the team's most targeted pass-catchers for the Saints, with Humphrey serving as the No. 3 in this low-volume passing attack. Quarterback Taysom Hill is returning from the COVID-19 list, but he may not have a ton of time to throw with both starting tackles and his starting center out due to COVID and injury. Humphrey and Montgomery should not be in any starting fantasy lineups.
New Orleans Saints wide receiver Tre'Quan Smith (chest) missed practice all week and has been ruled out for Week 17 against the Carolina Panthers. Receivers Lil'Jordan Humphrey (illness) and Ty Montgomery (back) were listed as questionable. Neither Humphrey nor Montgomery were able to practice on Friday, putting their status in question this weekend. The good news for the Saints offense is that Deonte Harris is back from his suspension and the COVID-19 list, so he and Marquez Callaway should serve as the team's top two pass-catchers against the Panthers. Even if Humphrey and Montgomery play, they aren't realistic flex options in this low-volume Saints passing offense with quarterback Taysom Hill running the show.
